Ortega was early this year, by almost 3 weeks. It was a very productive crop. Overall the Ortega, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Gris, all had excellent sugar levels.
We finished the fermentation on the whites first, and the reds followed. The whites will stay in the stainless tanks, and continue to be racked through out the winter. Our reds are sitting in stainless, but will be moved to oak barrels shortly.
This year we brought in 7 tons of Merlot grapes from Oliver, and as of today they just finished fermenting.
Things are tasting great in the cellar, and we are ready for the holiday season ahead.
